Pickerel Lake Park

Activities and Facilities

pickerel lake trail system
The trails at Pickerel Lake Park are a series of interconnected loops and segments that total more than four miles. To access the park's trails, follow the 900 ft long barrier-free boardwalk that crosses part of the lake just south of the trailhead off Ramsdell. The main loop around the lake is nearly two miles long, with travel in a clockwise direction. Other trails branching from the main Lake Trail explore adjacent woods, wetland areas, a larch swamp and small sand barrens. All trails are natural-surfaced and open to foot traffic only.

Nature Observation
With its easy access to diverse natural environments, Pickerel Lake Park offers excellent opportunities to observe nature in action. The floating boardwalk is an especially good place to hang out with binoculars or a camera, as the photographer who snapped the shot of this green heron discovered!

pickerel lake fishing
The park's boardwalk is also a fine place for fishing the 80 acre, undeveloped Pickerel Lake.

Cross Country Skiing
In the winter, Pickerel Lake Park transforms. With moderate hills and diverse environments, the park is a beautiful place to explore on skis or snowshoes.
