wahlfield open shelter B
Picnics and Group Events
Wahlfield Park has two open picnic shelters. The larger of the two, Shelter A, accommodates up to 144 people and may be reserved for your group events. Shelter B, shown above, seats up to 50 people and is always available on a first-come, first-served basis.

wahlfield playground
Kids will have plenty to do when you visit the park, thanks to the two large play structures and a big swing set. The playground is adjacent to the large group picnic shelter (shelter A) and is surrounded by benches for those who are a little less energetic than the kids!

Scavenger Hunt

Here’s a great activity for families or other groups visiting Wahlfield Park. It’s a fun challenge for kids and it's easy for adults to oversee since all the hunt is limited to the playground and large shelter area. Click here to download our Wahlfield Park Visual Scavenger Hunt, prepared and donated by volunteer Shane Smith.

Mountain Biking
Interconnecting loops of varying distances and difficulties wind through the forests and fields of Wahlfield Park. The Western Michigan Mountain Biking Alliance designed the park's trail system, and has been largely responsible for trail construction and maintenance. For more information and updates on trail conditions, visit the WMMBA's Wahlfield Trail page on Facebook

Other Trail Uses
All the trails at Wahlfield Park are open to hiking, running and just plain exploring. Dogs are allowed but they must remain on leashes. The trails are closed to equestrians and motorized uses.
Cross Country Skiing
In the winter, Wahlfield Park is a great place to explore on skis, with its rolling hills and mix of woods and open fields. The trails are not groomed and may also be used for fat tire biking. Be aware that restrooms at the park are closed from November 1 through April 30.
